This week, the NBA Board of Governors and NBA Players Association agreed to terms for the resume of the 2019-2020 season.

With the NBA season scheduled to overlap with the NFL season, college football, and perhaps even an MLB return, we may soon see sports networks saturated with live content once again this Fall.


But implications of this long awaited deal extend beyond Fall sports saturation or even playoff seeding for the 2020 NBA Playoffs. The NBA's plan to resume play for 22 contending teams this July will elevate the platform of athlete activists during a pivotal moment for America.
