We're less than one week into Major League Baseball's return to play, and the league has already delayed multiple contests due to a COVID-19 outbreak among Marlins players. While MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred may have envisioned baseball's return as a "milestone on the return to normalcy," his league's return has only reinforced a normalcy of chaos and uncertainty: the new normal in 2020.
The return of basketball, on the other hand, has seen promising results thus far. With zero new COVID cases and a studio-like court aesthetic in place of MLB's cardboard fans, the NBA seems primed to produce quarantine's most successful sporting events this Summer.
